Parent Education & Meetings
GATE PARENT ASSOCIATION MEETINGS
The GATE Parent Association holds meetings for members on a regular basis. These business meetings are reserved for voting members (parents with children in the GATE program of the Calgary Board of Education).On occasion, guest presenters may be invited to present information relevant to parents with children in the GATE program, or parents considering placement in the GATE program. All Parents are invited to attend the presentation portion of the meeting.
Dr. Michael Pyryt Parent Lecture Series
The GATE Parent Association, in conjunction with the Center for Gifted Education at the University of Calgary, is pleased to offer a series of education sessions to parents. This is an opportunity to learn more about gifted education/gifted learners, and have the chance to meet with other parents of gifted children. Parent education sessions are offered in the Fall and Spring of each academic year. The sessions generally include a guest speaker and discussion on a topic related to giftedness/gifted education. The Parent Education sessions are open to anyone with an interest in gifted education, including teachers and administrative staff.
